    C3220 ImagePass C1/C2 Interchangeable?

    Hi,

I have two C3220s (both working), but need to get rid of one. The copier I want to keep has a C1 ImagePass on it, and the other a C2. I would prefer to keep the C2 since it is more current (and robust, from what I have read). So, the question: Are the C1/C2 servers simply interchangeable between the copiers, or are they linked in some way to the base unit and not worth the trouble of switching?

    Thanks in advance,
    Jim

I believe they are interchangeable, except the hardware that comes with both imagepass might be different. The machines both have the same main controllers. Also the firmware should be look at. Swap em the worst you will get is a error code.

      Hi, Jim

Both Fiery C1 & Fiery C2 can be use in iRC3220. Agree wholeheartedly C2 has better performance then C1.

However, for iRC3200 you can only hook up a Fiery C1. If you try Fiery C2 in iRC3200, it throw up a E code.

        Before attaching an imagePASS-C2,
verify that Color imageRUNNER C3220/2620 has software/firmware of the following versions or later:

        System Software (MN-CONT) 82.03
        Language 82.03 , BootROM 70.01C*, RUI 79.04
        DCON 33.02, RCON 4.01
        G3 FAX WLD-56-01, DADF-K1 5.01
        Finisher-M1 4.02, Finisher-N1 4.01, Finisher-N2 4.01
        SDL-STCH 3.01, MEAPm 83.01

          Thanks for the information.

All versions are good, except for the MEAP which is 82.01.
Does that make this a "no go"?
[I don't believe I ever use the MEAP features anyway, unless they are really background "support".]

FWIW: The MEAP version on the "donor" copier is 84.01, and the only CDs with the machines that indicate MEAP is the Administration software CD (same for both).
So, I don't think I will be able to upgrade the MEAP software without support, right?

          Thanks,
          Jim
