Hello I have not seen this machine before. Getting a laser code E100! shutter opens, put new drum in and unplugged machine! I dont think there is a beam detect on this machine. Tried * 28 * wont go into the service to clear any error. any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Try this first
power off/
1-inspect printer with the covers off,
2-see if a lot of dust and toner is found on the DC Controller.
3-if so > clean off and power cycled back on > see if the code will clear out
Service Mode is entered by selecting the Additional Functions key, then #2 key, then the #8 key and finally the Additional Function key.
don't think u can clear E100 in service mode
NOTE-
Do not select the 2 and 8 key at the same time or mistaken the * (star) key for the Additional Functions key. If you fail to enter Service Mode, select the Reset key and following the correct procedure.
E100 0000 -------------condensation on the BD sensor is likely to cause problems associated with E100
BD detection PCB failure
The BD detection PCB is faulty. - Check the connector of the BD detection PCB.
- Replace the laser scanner unit.
- Replace the DC controller PCB.**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**

The tab on the drum unit opens the shutter. Make sure its not broken off...seen new drum units with it brokenComment
