Hi. I've got a cannon ir3045 with error code e000007-0000. Is this a case of just replacing the fixing unit? Or are there other causes for this? Also, could someone tell me the reset procedure for such codes?

I agree, needs the fixing film sleeve. Takes a good 45 min to an hour to do it properly. ir2200-3300 was similar process, but was so much easier to disassemble fuser.
I suggest looking it over first to make sure pressure roller and cleaning roller are good, otherwise do those at the same time.
If you haven't done it before or have someone to show you how, I suggest getting the whole fixing film assy. Otherwise you will replace and probably be back to do again within a month if not done right. -

yeah the cause of the error canon E007 is the fixing film rotation error. check the fixing unit, the is aluminum roller which guide the paper out of the fixing unit. when a machine runs for about 8 mouths of at list 2 cartoons of papers daily, there is a deposit of ink on the on the aluminum roller up to a point the film will not rotates well. try this clean the aluminum roller and clear the error code.
