For some time now, the network interface on my iPF655 appears to be dead. We had an electrical shock (lighting) some time ago in the house and interestingly, some of my LAN devices died. One device was a IPTV set-top box, other was a network switch and now possibly the iPF655 (which was connected to the bad switch). 2 workstations connected on the same switch and a wireless router are still good.
Anyway to the iPF655: The USB connection works but not the network. It doesn't show any errors, have tried to reconfigure it, but nothing really happens. Finally I noticed that the sent and receive lamps on the LAN interface and switch (the new one) do not light up at all. If I am not mistaken, even if the configuration is wrong, the lights should still go on as they are trying to communicate... So I am guessing something is fried... I suspect that it is the first IC before the interface itself, named HS00-00096LF. It is a kind of LAN transformer. Is there a way to check this? If I can source the part, I should be able to replace it, with a bit of care. But right now I am not totally certain what the cause is...
