    IR 1030IF keeps innitializing

IR C1030IF starts innitialization with blue line moving across. Then when almost complete the password screen appears for couple of seconds the screen goes black and innitialization starts over again. This is continuous.

Customer said recently had quality issue and fixing unit was changed. Then tech returned for almost 2 hours after recall for quality again. After tech left machine started continuous innitialization. Customer did receive faxes but that's it. Frank/ActionPhotocopy

    Re: IR 1030IF keeps innitializing

Customer called to offer more info which sounds important. When tech returned he went over to machine and then to customer to ask for password input. Then came back a little while later and told customer machine was turning on and off meaning reinitializing as i said. he told customer it was like that when he came in.

The thing is that the password screen only popsup for couple of seconds and if it was like that before he came there would be no need to ask for password . Is it possible that something he entered on keyboard provoked the problem. Frank

It sounds like System Software or HDD to me, axyun. I've never had to do system software on Canon, so I won't be able to advise you on how to do that.

Perhaps teckat has something to offer. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Thanks David. Never saw this one before but don't like it so far. Frank

That's the sane part of you coming through. Your instincts are correct. =^..^=

I had the same issue on a 1025. On the upper rear of the machine opposite of the fuser I found a thumb drive unplugged it and turned the copier on and it worked. Turned the copier off inserted the thumb drive and it has been working for three months.

                Thank you for your input.
I was finally able to access machine as "additional functions" was not available until then to enter into program mode. I am not sure what i did as I was looking for Tcp/ip settings but did not see them. I somewhere selected default setting in one of the management screens. After that the machine finished innitialization for first time. Got password screen and entered info and machine gave ready screen.

Machine said job printing but nothing happening. Tried canceling but did not cancel. Pulled plug then machine became totally accessible and job was gone.
