[Misc] Canon IR Advance C9075 Pro - Enabling/Initializing Finisher

So our customer has a Canon ImageRunner Advance C9075 with hole puncher, cappuccino maker, paper folding, and finisher (G1, BF1).

The problem is, when the end user send a job from a computer, or a copy job that uses the hole punch/folding option the machine does not use these options. For example, if selected a 3 hole punched Z folded, corner stapled copies it would only give me the corner staples, everything else would be missing even though I selected the options.

So how can I initialize the options?

From what applications does this happen--?
    Word\ Excel \ Pdf's \ etc.

    What print driver using.?
Do the options show as added on 9075
Make sure u have all options checked in Device settings drivers.
In the Print Driver Properties, under the Device Settings tab, make sure to Get Device Status...so that the Paper Folding Unit-G1 shows it is attached and folding options will be available. Or manually check the box for the Paper Folding Unit-G1.
Paper Folding Unit-G1 requires the Staple Finisher-A1 or Booklet Finisher-A1.

Yeah, but the thing is they do have those options enabled on the computer side and are able to chose those options when they send a job. The weird thing is if you build a copy job from the glass/adf and choose those option it still won't go through and complete with the finishes you ask for.

      I hope that clarifies.
      Thanks!

Okay, I have checked the paperwork I printed out from this machine so let me make some corrections to the first post. Here are the Options installed on the machine that are: Canon Booklet - A1, Canon Professional Puncher - C1, Canon Paper Folding Unit G1, Canon Duplex Color Image Reader Unit A-1, Canon Duplex Document Feeder.

Customers used to be able to use all functions without an issue.

Is there a way to initialize the options in service mode?

Am going to customer in the AM tomorrow, to update their firmware no matter what, (should be done anyway). So any suggestions are welcome!

Thank you for bearing with me, I am trained for Ricohs, working on Canon is new to me.

did u check the options on an individual test for them (fold >punch > staple )

if u walk up to printer and select just fold for a test on 5 pages thru DF >> What happens

Okay, walking up to the machine and testing each function 1 by 1 the following does not work.

                    Hole punching
                    Folding
                    Saddle stitching (middle staples, etc.)
                    Collating

a mmi clear might be needed as well. If one wasn't done at set up, strange symptoms can pop up like this. Try firmware first though.

                          forgot about MMI

check panel operation for options after firmware re-load>then

Select "Prioritize Finishing" Settings of Drivers and click OK.

I clear mmi on every setup, and I've had many strange issues before that suddenly disappear after clearing it. However, I'd go Firmware first, figured it's worth a mention.

Note: Before Clearing the MMI/Copy Mode, be sure to Print Out the machine User Data List and P-Print.
All user mode Settings: ID Modes, ID Group, Passwords, Mode Memory and the IP Address are cleared.

Before clearing MMI, print out an Output Report via Settings/Registration > Preferences > Network > Output Report.
Next go to Copier > Function > Clear > MMI clear > OK, then Power cycle machine Off and then back On.

                              Re-enter Network information:
Go to Preferences > Confirm Network connection Set changes and Turn On > TCP/IP settings > IPv4 Settings > IP Address Settings and re-enter information. Close the window and re-boot copier to a working condition===

                              Hopefully! !!!
