I have an irc3200 that has been performing pretty much flawlessly for several years.
I am an event director and print the usual office junk plus saddle stitched booklets for events, I only print about a thousand images a month on average.
I turned the machine off and went away for vacation for a week, came back and....
Suddenly I have the dreaded color misalignment in the sub-scanning (paper feed) direction.
I have tried many things to resolve the issue, with absolutely no change in the condition whatsoever.
Luckily I have 2 other units stored away for parts.
I have tried:
DCcon & Mcon clear...(several times between the many hardware swaps listed below)
Could not do full gradation adjust - offset is too large for unit to recognize scanned prints....yes checked the scanning by doing a send and it looks fine.
Swapped all 4 drums
Swapped ITB unit
Disassembled, cleaned and reinstalled ITB unit.
Swapped cleaning blade
Swapped used toner screw assy.
Swapped drum/itb drive motor assy. PITA to do :-)
Swapped fuser unit
Swapped pickup unit
It does not matter what the source of the print is copy, print, self test, there is about a 1/4" offset between the colors.
Software versions are: DC 10.02 R 4.01 MN 9.05 Boot 4.10n
I am at my wits end with this thing....is it possible it is a corrupted software issue or could something have been lost because the button cells on the DC board and Counter board are dead (they must be on a machine this age)?
If I wasn't already bald, I would be pulling my hair out right now. :-)
All suggestions appreciated.
Ben
