IR-ADV 8285 CONSTANT JAM

I HAVENT GOT MUCH EXPERIENCE ON CANON. HOPEFULLY SOMEONE CAN HELP

MACHINE CONSTANTLY JAMS AT THE REGISTRATION (stops just before reg roller on the right)

the jam code i get is 000CAF which means unknown. cleaned the sensor at the reg roller and the sensors at the vertical transport.
i checked behind the fuser unit connector and on the machine for peices of paper trapped.

i was testing the machine as normal until i started getting this jam, jams from all trays even from bypass.

help would be appreciated

Problem :
Media will be fed up to the registration sensor (PS29) and stop. No error code is shown.

To allow the error code to be displayed make the following setting:
Service Mode > Copier level 2 > Option > FN-SW JM-ERR change to 1.
_ This setting will turn on the error code versus the jam code. After recycling power, media will feed through without stopping at the registration sensor and jamming. The error code is ignored.

Is is this info from canon tech bulletins? Isit a known issue?

I just remembered having a 0CAF about four years ago on an adv 9065
It should be pointing to a problem in your finisher,
Disconnect it, and your jam should disappear.
Then troubleshoot the finisher.
It could need a controller, mine had a screw in the bin tracks.

0Cxx codes are nasty.
0cxx shows up when there should be an ecode, but in order to possibly finish your job without losing the info. it says 0cxx.
Originally, an ecode was meant to show up after 3 0cxx, but it did not always work for me.
Now when you turn on Service Mode > Copier level 2 > Option > FN-SW JM-ERR change to 1, all you will get is
an ecode E996-0cxx.
The run stops and the job disappears.
Thee is supposed to be a jam log somewhere, but I can't find it in the regular jam log.
