I also encountered different error code in the same model. Error in laser unit, fuser error only to find out that the transfer unit is the one causing the errors.

You have got a tough one there.
Check the fuses on DC controller that you removed.
E840 is an indicator that you have lost 24v 0r 38v, usually because of a short.

        Disconnect finisher, feeder, paper decks,
See what happens when you leave the fixing feeder and/or duplexer out.

Most likely a motor or fan motor is shorted.
        eg M1, M13, FIXING MOTOR
disconnect connectors from dc controller one at a time until you get to it
Make sure the controller is still good first.

my e840 was caused by a shorted new fuser
Afte rblowing a couple dc controllers I had to solder in a fuse holder and buy some fuses.
        good luck

          Hi,

Can you please confirm the error codes as i have only found the e-25 in the manual, which is a toner supply issue.

In the past when i've had random error codes come up, i found it was usually something i did ie; left a connector unplugged for a fan or motor or ...

          good luck....

There is usually a frayed wire on a clutch on that unit
