    Canon IR 3025 Toner motor

    What is the procedure for activating the toner motor. I know how to get to the into the service mode. Functions mode PART-CHK Motor On 5? Is that how it works? I am having trouble with the adding of toner to the developer. It keeps running low without asking for toner. I changed the DV unit but now it is doing the same thing. I don't believe it's adding any toner. Is there a toner add function?

    Toner hopper mechanism not opening the toner bottle cap fully.

    Realign gear segments that open the bottle cap, /on the hopper assembly/.
    When lever locking the toner bottle in position,the tops of the gear segments should be aligned.
    Remove the "E" rings that secure the bushings on the shaft to allow movement to re-align gears

      HI,
      This link could be useful

      when these machines were news we had to put toner in mode service install- toner S I think if the developer has been changed the problem is in the hopper assembly.....

      sometimes I have had to push the bottle toner out and fit into the mechanism....it is not uncommon in the older ir 2230 4570.....

      All the best

        To check whether the toner motor is active,try this procedure;
        1.Empty the dev unit off toner.
        2.Enter service mode and follow this;COPIER>FUNCTION>INSTALL>TONER S>OK
        3.The copier will run feeding toner in the dev unit.
        4.After feeding, the copier will show ok on the screen meaning the toner sensor has detected the presence of toner in the dev unit.
        5.Remove the dev unit from the machine and manually check the toner.If toner is not pumped to the dev unit then your motor could be defective.
