    Canon Ir7105 Unable to Book

    TYPO** unable to Boot

Hi Guys, need some advise on my current machine.

Machine when on, the green led on the panel will lid up however, there is no progress bar. or when i off the circuit breaker for a long time, the initial 1/4 progress bar will come out and become black screen again.

It all started when machine automatically reboot itself several times before this happen.

Would appreciate any kind reply from the professionals over here?

Guessing you can't get into Service Mode to check and clear an error - Fixing Unit etc, before the mc shuts down? If not.
Try cleaning the contacts of ALL the PCBs, RAM etc in the Controller Box before replacing any parts.

Pull out the process unit(drum assembly),unplug all connectors to it from host machine and see if it boots. The vibration motors for the cleaner blade short out and machine won't boot...just the little green light on. If it boots, unplug the vibration motors where they plug into host machine(coming from cleaner blade assembly). Replace the vibration motors and their associated wiring harness. The machine will run with them unplugged until you get all the parts

Thanks canuck for for the reply.

can I clarify that the machine will still boot with the drum assembly out? In order for drum assembly, I will need to remove the developer as well?

          please advise?

Just to add on, whenever we try to shut down the machine the normal way by long pressing the on/off button, and by pressing the "ok" button to shut down and pressing force off, it will not show us the normal screen to shutdown but instead it hangs there. Any link to this matter as well?

Also, sometimes, when it goes to sleep, we can't "wake" the machine up by pressing the on/off button, instead we have to switch it off and it will reboot and come back.

look forward to any kind advise!

Remove the dev anchoring plate then just slide dev out a bit..enough for yellow spacers to clear everything, then slide the process unit out. You can even just unplug connectors for process unit(above it on main unit),leave the front door and turn it on. It will boot up then tell you to close the front door. If its got to this point it has booted and OS(system software) is loaded to RAM correctly.

              Hi Canuck,

Thanks for the clear reply. I tried your method by pulling out the process unit. The machine booted but its prompted error code E0732-0000, after shutting down the machine and plug in the connector. Same thing happen again. The machine show the progress bar without the canon logo, after awhile, it will turn blank. Immediately after this, i tried to on the machine again but its show the blank screen.

One thing i notice is, if i off the main switch for a long period of time then the machine seems to able to boot.

Will i need to change the main con or dc con for this to go away?

Look forward to any kind advise.

Re: Canon Ir7105 Unable to Book

                hi Guys,

Just a quick update. after offing the main switch for more than several hours. I was able to boot up the machine indicating to reset unit 1, shortly after, it prompted E110-0000 which is obvious if i were to pull out the process unit. After the error, i was not able to on back the machine again, not even 1/4 of the progress bar.

Question is: what is making it crazy by not able to boot immediately after error and i have to wait for several hours before i can fully on the machine again? Seems to me as if like i need to deplete the battery somewhere so that it can boot up.

Can some experts provide me with some kind advise?

You could have a bad Hard Drive. If progress bar only gets 10-15%, then it is running the boot sequence but not loading operating system. Re-install system software. If still a problem try a new Hard Drive. HDD might be going bad...cools off after a while a works. E110 is laser error...if you have the cover for primary corona assembly removed then laser shutter is closed and you will get the E110 error

                    Hi Canuck,

Thank you for the reply. I will change a HDD with pre loaded system software and try now.

The E110 is because i pulled out the process unit thus generating this code. I thought you main objective was for me to test if the copier boot up normally?

                      Hi Canuck,

Thank you for pointing the HDD to me. After i changed the HDD, everything went default, so i had to clear the CA key + adding back the finisher.

i was so afraid that after i restart it would not come back.

On a side note, can you tell me why when i restart or press the force off button, the machine simply just hang there without showing the normal safe to power off?

But anyhow, thank you for the advise, you saved me.
