We have a c6501 and c5501 both with the LU-202 large capacity trays, both around the 9 year old mark.
One operates as the manual - upon opening the upper door the paper lift motor rotates in reverse making the paper lift plate go down "by a predetermined amount" about 100mm, press the switch (SW100) it goes down another 90mm, press it a third time it goes to the bottom.
The second one (on the 5501) upon opening the upper door goes straight to the bottom, it does not stop at any intermediate level.
I don't see how it can be a sensor because both trays operate normally.
this is not exactly business critical but a nice to have, any thoughts most welcome.
