As far as I know, you can order a chip to reset.

resetting the counter with old parts is just asking for CQ issues, best to let it ride into the sunset.

Depends on the kind of customer. If it for colorful spreadsheets you can go past 2 yield cycles easy.

Agreed. You can also rebuild and for low volume clients they may last the life of the lease
