If they want to replace A3 with A4 color machines...they asked for troubles.
They asked for cost. What more?
This is bad really bad move for them and for you if downgrade.

Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused.

The Ricoh MP C307/407 are a good reliable desktop MFD.
Or the previous model 306/406 still as good.

The Toshiba e389cs would be a good choice.

Personally I have a hard time recommending any color A4 tabletop MFP. You take a really big step down in reliability and quality. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

            Agree with the others

If you like this customer talk them into keeping what they have or maybe move up to a C308. If it is the cost of a bigger model you have to show the customer how a bigger machine will pay for itself over a few years compared to what they will spend on a small model with consumables, etc.

If they won't listen sell them the smaller model but be prepared to possibly lose the account. Of course when you tell them you warned them they will say they don't remember. Tell them NO service contract with a small machine. If you do you will regret it no matter what you charge them for the contract. You will lose money!

Hi, for customers like these, we always offer the C227. We always tell him: if you need a day at A3, how do you do it?

Compared to a C3351 the rental costs are not very different.
For this reason they often accept the C227.

I still don't know the reliability of the A4 iSeries in color. We must still experiment.

Have found the Ricoh A4 machines to be much better than the Konica Minolta machines.

The C3350/3380 has been good for me.
And they are cheatable to get the running cost nice and low.
