Re: C452 Dumpster to the Rescu(r)e!?!
Ah, I had not noticed "Vienna" Maybe these charts will be more suitable:If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Re: C452 Dumpster to the Rescu(r)e!?!
I know that this wasn't an easy fix.. esp for you.
But Kudos brother!
on your way to being a tech! We all stumble n fall.. the main thing is NOT to let it get you down.
Personal note*** spent three hours working on my son's car with him... and all of a sudden I had the bulb light up... one more hour and we got that section of the repair done... ball joints .. tie rods....sway arms.. stabilizer bar. Now just body work to go on his 2005 Subi Impreza.
Again Impressive repair for an end user.

Re: C452 Dumpster to the Rescu(r)e!?!
Everyone has to start somewhere. As long as you study the Service Manual and methodical with your work you can often find success. God knows I have have danced on razor blades working on machines I know nothing about. Did it take probably 5x longer than it should have? Sure. But I got the experience and most of the time manage to fix all the blasted things. And that experience often translates into other jobs. Give me enough time and money and I can fix just about anything but a flux capacitor.
There are videos out there showing how to rebuild IUs. I used to have one for this model but appears to have been taken down. Not that I am pushing you to do this, but it is possible.
The fuzzy roller on the fuser is actually nowhere near as important as the red rollers, so I am probably adding a little more confusion to all this than necessary.
If you are comfortable, I recommend cleaning the transfer belt, use a microfiber cloth and isopropyl alcohol on the belt itself and use purified water to lightly clean the residue off with a clean microfiber. The belt should be smooth and shiny. The rear section has the waste system that you can vacuum out real good if you take the cover off (I wouldn't be surprised to see some bits of fuser roller in that unit). There is a metal tab on the side that needs to be cleaned in that area. And basically clean all the sides, etc. Just don't scratch the belt--in fact do not touch the belt at all unless cleaning.
Also there is a shutter under the transfer belt that has two very important sensors they must be clean.
After that, you basically are forced to buy stuff to get better print quality. You might have some luck putting a request in the part wanted section of this forum.

Re: C452 Dumpster to the Rescu(r)e!?!
What interval are the crossfeed bars in the 11% images? I'm going to guess 40mm: second transfer roller. Like others have said, that can be cleaned with water (only). And make sure it's completely dry before re-installing.
Does using these charts help you isolate which colors are causing the issue?

no scorch marks found here....
filters as well, compressed air to the maxxx:-)
gave everything a good cleaning wipe-yes i did wipe the belt as well with isopropanol-alcohol.
i found more stuff hidden to the unsuspecting idiot which is writing here this words...
firstly upon taking out the C IU i noticed that there is something glued onto the printer itself,. it is plastic with foam underneath, maybe protecting something.
well, your protecting days are over, Sir:-)
the foam has disintegrated, the plastic was wrinkling upon itself.
removing left plastic sidepanel to access metalplate protecting back portion of the Transer Belt unit, i found this litte part hiding next to the left fan sitting in there:
it does look like, and please do not tell me otherwise, that this little plastic part has broken off a former TransferBeltUnit, which the previous owner broke...
while in the IU section(please mind the red marked spots in the image)
cleaned that plastic:
found some M-residue kinda burnt onto that plastic, removed as well:
and as Member Synaux mentioned, under the transfer belt, i cleansed this moving part as well as the augers underneath...
yes, i cleaned the metal part where the back portion of the TransferBeltUnit has its contacts.
vaccuum away access toner:
thank you Sir for your kind offer on that K-Toner^^
firstly i have to take the plunge and buy the parts the machine needs to operate properly, Sir^^
all the best to you Sir, i am very grateful you taking your time to read and respond. God bless:-)Comment

Re: C452 Dumpster to the Rescu(r)e!?!
95mm is the drum interval. It tells me you'll be changing some drums in you're future. If you didn't know, drums are light sensitive, and will light shock if you leave them out in the room light over 30 minutes. I looks a lot like your images. The good news is the it can "heal" with usage.
It's not uncommon on a machine this old for foam seals to turn to mush. We just make new ones with what's on hand. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:

Re: C452 Dumpster to the Rescu(r)e!?!
Just relating to the "what is a Fiery"
Back in the day we had 4 if not 5 c451 machines, so the generation before the 452, you could throw anything at them and one was doing 90k per month. Good work horses and easy to maintain.
But we are a print shop, and anything can be brought in for printing, and if you were to have any chance of these machines being consistent on colour production then you needed the Fiery print controller. Every machine we have had has a print controller on it. You can calibrate the colours each morning, and have greater control over most aspects of the print production. In it's simplest form if you use the machine as a printer rather than photocopier, together with Command Workstation it's the digital equivalent of the touch screen panel but on your desktop.
You'll need the fiery, the cabling and the card that the cabling cionnects to, if your existing machine doesn't. As to installation, never done it, always had them pre-installed...

Re: C452 Dumpster to the Rescu(r)e!?!
If you're swapping the fiery onto the other device you will need stuff from inside the donor machine (video interface card, cables/brackets etc) and settings in service mode etc. Best to acquire the installation manual if you can for the VI card / Fiery (it'll be called an IC something or other (I don't have the manual handy) , honestly easier unless you have need of the fiery just to use the built in controller for printing but kudos to you sir for all of your efforts!
Regards.
