    bizhub C3320i freezes and reboots

This bizhub C3320i had a CPU failure last year. Now we are having the 0xFFF detail codes again (fills the 250 code buffer daily) and lots of erratic behaviour. Freezes in sleep. Freezes waking from sleep. Freezes while the user is moving through menus on the touch panel.
Loaded G00-RB firmware. First try - download N.G. for all. Changed USB drive, and it loaded. New firmware did not solve anything.
The fan is spinning fine on the CPU.
KM tech support had us run GXX-26 diagnosis and recovery tool. All OK.
KM tech support also suggested we load GG1-RB - when trying to load it, firmware download N.G. (and N.G.2 for scanner/printer) and no matter what we try now we cannot get the machine to boot. Gives "Error. This is invalid External Memory Please make sure the External Memory" (sic)
I did trick it to boot to the copy screen once by holding stop without any USB inserted. After a few minutes, copy screen loads, but then the machine reboots after another few mintes and back to the "Error. This is invalid..."

anyone seen something like this? seemed like CPU but now I suspect memory card?

We had similar symptoms when we had a bad SSD. Although there are a few things that could cause this. We've found that sometimes that diag and recovery tool doesn't quite catch it ifs just starting to fail.

I would run the diag tool again. it's more broken now so it's more likely you'll get it to spit out a real error.

Can you jog my memory? I believe those use SD cards to boot off of but they may be M.2 NVMe SSDs. If it's just an SD card they are relatively easy to replace with another one as long as it's the same size or larger.

We had the exact same issue after updating G00-RB we got controller update N.G, it took a few reboots then then updated OK. After setting SW 25 to 4.0 to change the function version all was good.

Unfortunately seems both CPU board and CF card are failing. What a mess.
I would try cheaper at first but after recovering data CPU board is next to replace.

I have changed a few CPUBs with the same problem in that model.

I've got two C3320i back after rent period was over. The two systems have been working fine for 48 month at the customer with older firmware versions. Then I've updated the machines to the then latest firmware (I believe Q6 or something). And then these errors (restarting, freezing began). You see the error 0x22019.... on the service management list.
Ok we had broken CPU boards before but I think it came massively with some fimware update.
Then KM Support said RD version should solve it. But I believe it does not.
I replaced a CPU board of a C3300i 14 days ago (FW Version was P8 I believe) because of restarts, freezing not printing. Printer is only a year old and started making this errors 14 days ago.
I could not update the firmware too, which I tried first. After replacement of CPU the printer worked fine. Yesterday customer called again because of restarts. I've updated to RE which is available now. I can only hope this will solve the problem. In the FW description of RE there is "MFP may reboot" listed as solved problem.
