We will if or when we get another machine that has the same DSIB. As a trade in for a walkup shop machine, we aren't wanting to throw any unnecessary money at it.

Looked up the DSIB in an older pricing guide that still listed what models the part fits in, and the board is the same in the following machines:

      654, 754, C454, C554, C654, and C754

No E-models it would seen, so if you have any of the above laying around...

Thank you for the information. At the moment all we currently have is the 454e in the parts warehouse. It's a convenience copier only so scanning a page off the glass isn't miserable for what it's being used for currently. I'll update if/when we get a chance to try and replace the DSIB.

Roll back the firmware to the same version and step up from there. I think the firmware pushed to the ADF/DCS/Scanner is the cause for it not being picked up. The MCU's are not sending back any serial communication to tell it here I am this is what I do info because of bad firmware. My theory anyway. Get parts with old or on this case any firmware on it and change it to that machine and it could show back up again. Unless the magic blue smoke came out of some ICP(s) on the OACB somewere.

Look closely the upgrade screen to see if anything fails. Pulling the power cable on it while writing FW can brick machines or components....

I believe there are some software tools to help out. Never needed it. Otherwise compare line for line from the management lists.
Think there is a section in the manual for things not starting somewhere.

PS: Did you do a system error clear. It does reset things not show or even fix things initialize can't.

It's Excel table comparing sheets. Can't see soft switch doing this but DSIB is another story.
I think along same way as Synt.
