[Misc] Bizhub C1070 Freezes

Hello all,
This machine comes up fully ready to print but it freezes randomly at any time, before, during of after printing. When it does, the screen and all the buttons simply becomes non-responsive and whatever acivity is going on is suspended until the power is recycled using the internal on/off switch because even the external one does not respond anymore. After recycling power, it works well again until it freezes up again.
I have updated the firmware and replaced the processor on the OACB, but these did not solve the issue. Im thinking it could be the OACB itself, but I want some corroboration of this thinking from other's experience, as this is not a cheap part.

Hi. I had the same problem with the С2060. I reconnected all the connectors on the pripb, oacb and formatted HDD's. It works for a year after that.

I had the same problem with two printers, a C2070 and a C7000. Both had exposed wires or harnesses due to improper maintenance and at some point during use, they would touch the grounded structure. This would cause a short circuit and the printer would simply freeze.

Afanasy, tulintron, thanks once more. Tried the suggestions but issue was not resolved😥
Im thinking OACB next?

These kinds of issues suck. No definitive way to isolate the problem without throwing expensive (non refundable) parts at it. It could either be the OACB or the IPB that can cause a lock up. Image process memory issues are quite common. Also rule out any high voltage leaks. those can cause really erratic operation as well.

I agree with you Wjurls. It even freezes sometimes while on standby (not printing, or processing nothing). Your suggestions are noted, thanks

Have you printed out a management list to see if there's any code corresponding to a lock-up, even if it's an engineering code that KM never tells us what they mean?

So far the following items have been eliminated as possible cause as they were tested on another machine and they worked well: Control screen, OACB, PRCB, the arm carrying the control screen with the cables. Nothing outside the ordinary on the management list printed. Machine still freezes! Next stop is PRIPB testing and the HDD's. Wish us the best!

Just an update for someone in future, this problem was eventually resolved by changing the PRIPB. Thanks
