    BizHub 450i C2557

    Greetings everyone,
I have 3 BH 450i that give me the same fault C2557. That is, low toner density. In practice the toner bottle does not rotate. I replaced the engine but nothing could be done.
Two machines have around 500,000 prints, but one is new and just installed...
Has anyone had the same problem?

Hi, this could be a dirty refill sensor in the hopper assembly, the machine thinks the hopper is full so doesn’t rotate the toner bottle.

I’ve also had this caused by the black toner refil motor not having the torque to rotate the toner paddles, I’ve had faulty toner shutters (on the toners) that don’t open and I’ve also had this code from a faulty black development unit.

I would start my cleaning the sensors, good luck!

This can also happen if the actuator inside the hopper gets dislodged so it can't move with the auger. Push open the shutter on top and clear away any toner to see if the rear end of the actuator plate is positioned on the pin.

It will be the hopper sensor or the Actuator inside the hopper. I have seen the actuator get stripped where the metal clip is on the inside of the hopper.

They main issue with these are the piece of plastic in the hopper that comes up through the whole that is Infront of the hopper shutter toner fall down that right onto the sensor below it.

OEM toner has a internal shutter inside the bottle normal shutter that helps a little with this issues of toner spilling when bottles are pulled in and out of MFP and non OEM just has the normal shutter on the bottle. I found pulling bottles out slowly helps eliminate this issues and instructed all my customers to do the same to avoid these TCR codes.
