    [Misc] IC 308 C1070

    I have a very used IC 308..running Win 7. Tech upgraded the Fiery software to 2.X from 1.1 (he should not have done so as this is a paid upgrade)..I cannot downgrade back to ver 1.1

    I have the 1.1 software DVD in, and we start up..Loading Windows, then the Fiery screen appears, the package Icon appears for maybe 1 second then is gone followed by a restart and the loop continues..Time and date are set in Bios. I can insert the 2.X DVD and it will go to the Fiery update screen..I have downloaded the 1.x ISO file twice, and used 2 different programs to burn the image. Any ideas on what may be preventing me from putting this back to 1.X? E

      Grab an old HDD and swap it.
      If there is anything in the boot sector of the existing hdd preventing the downgrade a new hdd will help.
      Part of the "upgrade" I think is extra ram and a bios upgrade.

      Toss a 320g hdd in there and see if that gets ya going.
      Even if you just unplug the existing hdd and let the "new" hdd dangle from the wires just to see if it installs ok.
      Once you can print to it then I'd install the hdd permanantly.
      We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two.
      The medication helps though...
