As long as the USB, or SD card, is not infected with malware that can infect your MFP and/or call home and send your files as soon as you put it in your computer.Leave a comment:

I talked to KM yesterday and only the BH 5020i (Brother) can do SFTP. I have a Lexmark XC9235 (KM C258) in my storage and it does allow SFTP.Leave a comment:

Actually not. They are 2 different protocols and have different advantages and disadvantages.
SFTP uses Secure Shell (SSH). FTPS uses SSL/TLS.

SFTP is mostly a function of the server not the client. If it is not available on the server, the client cannot use it. In house IT people for major companies do not allow any type of FTP on the networks they support and will black ball any vendor any vendor who attempts to implement it.
