I tried to update firmware from G00-W4 on a C-258 but it stuck at 2 bars. Front cover open. Nothing happens. Front USB ist plugged correct. In the Device Information stands only Version 4.2 but no firmware number? Thanks for help.

First do a reset tool (a789be.tar) turn off and boot with the firmware. -

Before reset tool(last resort) maybe it's good idea to try to unplug some options like HDD, ADF, Finisher that may allow you to update machine at several iterations you get the idea.
However reset tool may give you clean main board and update can succeed.A tree is known by its fruit, a man by his deeds. A good deed is never lost, he who sows courtesy, reaps friendship, and he who plants kindness gathers love.
