Well since the machine is dead anyway have you tried to take out the PH assy open it check it etc?
Had this problem twice(it was accompanied with a squeaking sound) i took the PH Assy out and applied a bit of oil(very little in the polygon mechanism(hope no one kills me for saying this))
One time problem solved the other it didnt.
Wont stake my life on it but i think the Assy is the same with Di3510.
Beeing young and newbie in this line of work dont know if i helped,just wanted to share my experience and hope i helped a tiny bit
