    7145 scanning N-81 and N-32 errors

hi i have the support of an 7145. it is set up in the ms network as a fixed ip target printer at 10.0.0.195. it prints ok for everyone in the lan.

the owner has set it up himself and done a good job. he asked me to try to get the scanner to scan to ftp server.

he had sucessfully setup and is using scan to email.

he has a sbs 2003 server. i downloaded and installed fileziller ftp server set up user and password and was able to login from a client pc using standard ftp client and telnet.

closely following the manual to scan and send to ftp server fails with a N-81 error, checking the error leads me to believe the ftp server is unreachable by the printer. this doesn't appear to be correct.

setting up smb file targets results in N-32 error which has no reference.

the ftp settings for the printer are all correct regarding sub net , gateway.

i changed the NIC TO HALF duplex with no effect.

the ftp setting has a file location field which has no reference.

does anyone have any suggestions on what i should try next.

should the printer be a dhcp client ( rather than fixed ip ) for this to work?

    thanks for reading so far.

Are trying to scan to ftp or PC SMB?

Scan to FTP: User name must be correct
    Password must be correct
file path must be correct if scanning to root just /
user must have rights to upload

If your ftp server is set up correctly and the above are correct it should work.

Are you using the Konicaminolta FTP utility?
If so make sure that port 21 in not already in use, and IIS is not running.
Also the windows firewall will block ftp by default, you will need to make an exception in the firewall settings for that port
