hi i have the support of an 7145. it is set up in the ms network as a fixed ip target printer at 10.0.0.195. it prints ok for everyone in the lan.
the owner has set it up himself and done a good job. he asked me to try to get the scanner to scan to ftp server.
he had sucessfully setup and is using scan to email.
he has a sbs 2003 server. i downloaded and installed fileziller ftp server set up user and password and was able to login from a client pc using standard ftp client and telnet.
closely following the manual to scan and send to ftp server fails with a N-81 error, checking the error leads me to believe the ftp server is unreachable by the printer. this doesn't appear to be correct.
setting up smb file targets results in N-32 error which has no reference.
the ftp settings for the printer are all correct regarding sub net , gateway.
i changed the NIC TO HALF duplex with no effect.
the ftp setting has a file location field which has no reference.
does anyone have any suggestions on what i should try next.
should the printer be a dhcp client ( rather than fixed ip ) for this to work?
thanks for reading so far.
