    C6500 with IC408 image corruption

    Hello guys,

I installed a C6500 with IC408. The copies are looking great but the prints, even the Fiery tests, are looking weird: I am getting a black overprint on all the printed page, sometimes 2/3 from a page and where supposed to be black on print I get white. The problem appears and disappears from time to time. I am thinking of an imperfect contact.

    Any ideas?

Might need the modified Image Processing Board.

    "Negative image.
Ensure that the bizhub PRO C6500 has the modified Image Processing Board installed. The modified IPB serial number cut-in for the bizhub PRO C6500 is:
    A03U010001509 - U.S.
    A03UP10000697 - IKON (U.S.)
    A03UW10000041 - Generic (U.S.)
    A03V010000031 - For the bizhub PRO C6500P (U.S.)
The modified IPBs can be identified by one of the following:
A red dot on the white bar code label.
R144 has been removed (see attached photo).
Revision level 5 or greater (A03U H020 15 or higher)."

I had the same thing with a Creo IC-304.

Already check this, it's a brand new machine installed a few days ago, R144 is not there.

Swap ends of the cables before you start chucking out Fierys. Anyone found that customers are dropping fierys for Creos? Talking to a XeroX tech he said they were pretty much avoiding fierys now.

We have tried different rip cables, swapping cables around, firmware 1.2 to 2.0 back to 1.2., o no avail. We currently have had four rips that would reverse image , totally black, and all sorts of other funkey output.

Also moved the rips to different machines and it did the same thing, eventually.

It's the fiery, I changed with an used one, kept everything on, even the cables and now it's working, no image corruption... yet...

                Firmware 1.2 to 2.0??
                Isn't the latest for the IC-408 1.1?

1.1 is the latest OS with only one patch. Color profiles for RGB ver.5

My terminology might be different (not sold as Konica). We do not call it a ic408.

Here is our firmware history with the internal rip (hangs on back).
                    1.0
                    1.02
                    2.0

Also, my versions are dumbed down.

                      You have the wrong Fiery - C6500/IC-408 Versions ( 1.0 / 1.0a / 1.1) There is no 2.0 or 1.02 for this Fiery.

You have the wrong Fiery - C6500/IC-408 here are the only three versions for this controller - 1.0 / 1.0a / 1.1

Our versions do not coincide because the rips we sell are dumbed down.
                          Mechanically exact same rip.

Here is the part number on the rip I believe should translate to your IC408,
