Help identifying 'thingy' on Bizhub c6500

Apologies in advance for the lame question, but what does the sliding toggle (3 positions) do near the top of the fuser section, exit side?
I've tried looking in the manuals but not managed to find anything.
Google returns a lot of results for 'thingy' too, none of which are appropriate.

It alters the pressure on the two ceramic rollers on that guide. Can be useful to help reduce wrinkle on lower weight gloss/silk stocks

I was wondering what it did as that is exactly what happened, I was getting wrinkles on 170gsm glossy.
