This is a common problem in Bizhub 420/500 if u r using bad paper(paper dust).c2801 means inproper toner quantity in developer.

1. paper dust
2. Developer life
3. toner agitation gear not sit properly in the main drive.
4. One belt drive is there behind the OACB pcb actually drives the toner agitation roller in the dev.unit may loosen or deformed.

spike the dv with some toner and stir it by hand and you should be able to make a few copies, then it will happen when it runs out of toner in the mixture. I'm pretty sure you'll need a new toner supply unit. This will rule out the tcr sensor if you can spike it and it works.

if you change the toner supply unit and the problem still persists, make sure u also replace the dev and possibly the drum, blade and TCR sensor. this will definately get rid of the problem

you might need to replace the toner supply unit (part number 50GA-3200) the code appears because not enough toner is being detected in the developer tank. this can either be due to an empty toner bottle, faulty sensors, or usually a broken or malfunctioning toner supply unit.

Did you change the TCR-Sensor too?

Anyone know how to get ride of the 2801 code? We've replaced almost allof the boards save the NVRAM. We've flashed the copier over, and over, and over. We've been to 20, and 31.
