C6500 - IC408 Controller shuts down.

Hi

I have Konica Minolta C6500 with IC408 Controller.

After switching on and printing test page, controller shuts down itself. Controller goes to 91 and then shuts down.

Tried software 2.0, 3.0, 1.0, 1.1, but still no luck.

Can anybody advice, what it is and how can this be solved, any patch file or anything else. I am out of ideas.

Is the controller software for the right manufacture? Shut down will happen if you try and load KM software on an Ikon box and same in reverse. It takes place after the OS loads and the Fiery SW starts. Approx 2 mins or so.

code 91 means the Fiery system has not updated.
I would suggest the main culprit may be the HDD.
I have attached the IC-408 service guide which may assist.

I have tried fresh HDD with fresh software.. Same problem...

In that case I think Rai's suggestion is more than likely.
Was this working previously? Check that you have the correct fiery system software for the IC-408.
My thinking is the IC-408 now has screwed bias and sees the fiery system for a different manafacturer.
The only way to recover this unfortunately is a mother board replacement (a very expensive option though)

Probably I can help you.

Just make backup of BIOS from your controller, and send this backup file to me. Controller BIOS is Phoenix - Award BIOS (cooperation), so you should be able to use most of available tools for Award BIOS like awdflash - tools and tutorials from this site can be helpful: http://forums.mydigitallife.info/thr...shing-From-DOS

Microsoft does not provide more system updates WinXP.
The controller executes the search for updates, find some, but not run. It may be the cause.
There came across system restarts, but I had problems with it.

That's completely beside the point.

You are describing known problem with working Fiery system, that can be usually solved by installation 1-1CO771 patch.

Subject of this thread is related to hardware/software problem (before stage of working Fiery system) - it's probably 2nd hand ICON controller and guy's trying to install Minolta software.
