I had the same thing a few weeks ago, it's a pain to get the latch to release even with the covers off. I had to force it open and fortunately I didn't break anything. This will be my first and last M6035 series I sell.

Why I feel better if I know I'm not the only one?

      Thanks Hose!

We have a fairly substantial fleet of that model line in the field. I can't say that I've heard of this type of issue before now. I find it to be a fairly reliable line, so I wouldn't let that one incident be the end-all on the line.
If you phrase your inquiry properly, you will get the answers you seek...

Good Luck ... You'll need it! HAHAHA!

We had one that the safety latch for the Doc Feeder was broken. It is needed to keep adf from opening when toner door is lifted. The latch is in front left corner and actuates a latch in front left corner of scanner.
