I find it's usually because the user doesn't have the cartridge completely seated and forces the lever into position, jamming the lock mechanism.

Have had that happen on a handful of those machines, nothing broken, nothing out of place, just wont come out, ?, strange birds they are. Like the toner add problem.

Pry on right side with straight screwdriver.

I finally got frustrated and did just that. It was stuck and the left side as you look at it in the machine. I forced it out. Glad I didn't break anything other than the empty toner cartridge. The new cartridge goes in ok and comes out ok.

I have an FS-3640MFP with a toner cartidge stuck. Cannot get it out. Release lever works. The right side is stuck. Trying to disassemble but never done it and manual no help. Any ideas?
