    Kyocera 3010I doc. feeder troubles..

    Hey Folks,
have a customer with a 3010I series, and the document feeder, intermittantly willjam..I noticed the lower plate not always lift up...I removed solinoid, clean and put a drop of oil on the plunger...worked for a little bit...has anyone encountered this trouble..?
I'm guessing I need to order a solinoid, but thought I'd check for any other input..?

    Thanks,
    Jaime

Check the width sensors on the feeder. They are attached to the front and rear guides underneath. Have sent the contacts get dirty and not read the proper size paper.

would that cause the lifer plate, to not lift?, whats happening, is that lifter plate doesnt rise up, so the pick up rollers spin, but the paper is too low position, to grab the paper.

Oiling a solenoid is the surest way to make it misfire. Start by soaking out both parts in alcohol then cleaning the bore with a Q-tip. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Just had one that the post snapped off the lift plate. Not a good design.
