Whining noise when collating Taskalfa 250ci/DF-780

I have a Taskalfa 250ci with DF-780, and when cust is printing with collating option the finisher does this Whining noise and when you look at the finisher you see the belts spinning fast and then they stop. Sometimes at end of print job, sometimes in the middle of print. Machine does not jam. Just makes that noise.

I've cleaned all sensors and updated to latest firmware, still doing it.

    Any ideas would be helpful

Isn't it about time to upgrade that machine?
I seem to remember that there is an idler type wheel on on of the belt pulleys (upper I believe) that spins when the belt turns and make a whining noise when the belt stops and it continues to spin on the shaft. I believe it is the pulley (or nylon type washer) that is there to keep the belt from riding off of the belt drive pulley). Put a small amount of lubrication where that idler meets the shaft and it should take care of it.

Since the 250ci does the actual collating, which tray is the job being sent to? It makes a difference as to when and which drive belts are turning and when. Does the event log indicate any codes related to the finisher? Since you say that the unit is not jamming, just making the noise, I would suspect a dry brass bushing. You can isolate where it is by running the finisher in the sims mode that allows you to run different sections of the finisher, this will help you narrow down where the noise is coming from, once you do that you can probably isolate the whine.

I think it's U241 in which you can individually run finisher motors. Check your manual. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
