    C7901 3252ci

    Hey all,

I've got an interesting fault I'd love some ideas on

The machine in question is a TaskAlfa 3252ci, its displaying a C7901 error (Drum unit K eeprom).
I think this is the first code it arrives at because there seems to be quite a major issue.
What's strange is if you go through maintenance mode there is no serial number/count information for all units (fuser, belt, drum, dev)
So basically it's as though they are not installed.

You can simulate this exact fault on a functioning machine very easily by unplugging one of the cables that connect the feed image pwb with engine pwb.

Things that have been tried: Feed image pwb, engine pwb and the loom between the two, forced firmware (completes with no error), 21+906

Both these boards loom and all the units work in another machine, and display their serial numbers/counts etc.

    Any ideas where to next?

    Thanks

The reason I hadn't tried this was I didn't think this board could cause the machine to also not recognise the belt or fuser.
But disconnect this board from a functioning machine and it looks like this is actually the case.
Doesn't look fun to get this board out but I will post results.
      Thanks

update: dlp/drum connect board made no difference, all these boards and components in question are now in a brand new 3252ci working perfectly

I've checked it with a multimeter, seems fine but I guess this is basically the last thing that hasn't been replaced

there is certainly a short on some connector that does not allow the engine to process the serial numbers of the groups. Turn on the machine with the loads disconnected and test until it generates that error, maybe you get to the solution. Good luck

Remove all the cables from hopper and drive then reinsert them.. M/c should be ok

Have the units been replaced before? Or are they the ones from the factory? If replaced and power was still on you will get this issue, and you must also run U952 at setup and any unit replacement for them to register properly
