    [Misc] TA2551ci Main unit open

    Hi All

Need some help, I have this TA2551ci that shows main unit open although it is close.

    What i already did
Replace main unit cover switch - no change
Update firmware - No errors updated 100%
    Checked wiring continuity test 100%

What is also strange is that i can not get into Maintenance mode.

any help or assistance before i start replacing boards, please

I'd start by checking everything that can be opened and making sure that the switch is actually being engaged.

"Main Unit Open" can mean a lof of things could be open.

has the conveying unit been replaced or had work done to it recently...if so I would look to see if the black cover that hides the board has been removed or if the sensor actuator is broke off of it

Another item to check is the white nylon latch assembly on the rear of the main unit cover. I had one where it was broken and the main unit appeared closed but would show as open on the display. Applying slight pressure on the upper rear side of the unit would make the unit come to ready. Worth a look.

I've done this to myself many times. If the front cover is opened and the swing-up section is opened then closed, be sure that the inner section latches at BOTH sides are latched. If only one side is latched, the other side will push the magnet open for the front cover. I've even closed the call, then got called back the next day because the front door won't stay closed. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Log into the web interface sometimes that will tell you what is open in more detail.

                Update on findings

                Problem solved.

The front cover has two door sensors on the cover open/close. One micro switch and one switch with the silver plate switch
The sensor activator/ pins (302NP04200 - HOLDER SWITCH) on the front door side, one was cracked and did not keep contact on the sensor when the front door was closed.

This then resulted in the machine indicating main unit cover open and this is the door on the right hand side of the machine, also as per the illustration on the screen.
That is what caused the confusion and trouble shooting was done on the wrong door side.

Moral of the story: Check all door/cover sensors when faced with this type of problem again.

Unfortunately i did not check this before hand if the web interface says something different.
                  Will check it next time.
