Thoughts on the Exchange Online Connector Utility

So with the SMTP authentication changes coming, Kyocera has I guess pivoted to using a "Exchange Online Connector Utility" Program to handle email things. Not sure how I feel about it yet. It seems like it could work, however it requires a device to run on in order to function, So if the client has servers or a device that already runs a Gateway I guess thats fine. No clue about Azure based networks with no servers.
They also put out a Technical Bulletin that has this fun little paragraph in it
"The migration to Exchange Online Modern Authentication is limited to mail reception, so the impact on MFP/Printer devices is limited to features related to mail reception. This means that existing MFP/Printer devices will no longer have the ability to print mails and receive ifaxes."
That makes me feel like Scan to email will work just fine, but sending an email to the printer to print or an incoming fax to an email account will not work. Which I am fine with since I dont deal with either of those two situations.
There is also a list of devices at the bottom of the TB that it sounds like it is saying they will function with or without the connector. Those being basically the newest machines (MA4000, MA3500,MA2101, etc.)
Working...
