P6235 that has the magenta toner cartridge stuck

I have a P6235 that has the magenta toner cartridge stuck,
I cant remove it, OEM toner. Has anyone dealt with this before.
I have to pull the side drive off to remove it. I put it back together and the
Toner cartridge in and it stuck again

Yes, many times. Typically there is something broken in the unit that is supposed to release the cartridge. One of the myriad reasons I have such a powerful dislike of this family of devices. I have seen it caused by the cartridge itself a couple of times but usually not.

There was a bulleting about this problem on the newer machines when the toner is removed without lifting the lid up fully. Apparently the shutter on the toner cartridge can end up out of line. The bulletin suggested making sure the gearing on the cartridge was adjusted before re-insertion and to make sure the top lid is opened fully before attempting to remove the cartridges to prevent this happening going forward.

I am unsure if this applies to this generation, but may be worth a shot!

I have a P6235 doing the same thing. Mine is both black and yellow. I have reached out to our SSE about it. Mine had a couple of broken gears due to my customer trying to get it out. I thought it was something they did. I repaired the gears and put it back together & some thing you experienced. The drive side of the cartridges is just the motor and the spring loaded gear. The lock side seems to be the issues, but I've been unable to figure it out.

Do you have any more info ? This part doesn't come up when you search the parts manual of the P6230/P6235.
            Hope that helps !

The parts attached to Figure 14 302NR02180 GUIDE TOP RIGHT that hold your stuck toner cartridge probably have a problem. Unfortunately they cannot be ordered because they have part numbers of 500 or above.

                P6235 figure 14.jpg

I had a stuck Magenta cartridge on a P6235. I got item 13 with the parts shown in the diagram from an M6635cidn and replaced the whole thing. Item 515 needs to be sequenced with the angle of the lid or you'll have problems. The lid does not open and close the cartridge on this model. The cartridge is opened and locked in place by the user operating the blue lever on the cartridge.

I found an addendum to the parts manual that gives the part numbers for the parts that attach to the top right guide.

This section is the same for the M6535, M6635, P6235

I just got those numbers from my SSE and ordered them all yesterday. I'll update my findings as well.
                    Hope that helps !

I reached out to the hotline and there is no documentation on disassembly/assembly for these. If anyone has any, it would be greatly appreciated.

Its a time consuming job, lining up all the gears & being in time is most important. I have done a few of these, and sometimes you think you have it and try the cartridges & they don't always line up, so you start over & just be patient with it, it is a tedious job, but you will prevail. They have to be perfect in order to freely remove & install the cartridges.

You can remove the high voltage board and possibly get the access you need without removing the whole black guide. Watch from there as you put a cartridge in and move the lever so you can identify the problem.

If you do decide to remove the guide it's not near as bad as the MFP version. Unplug the upper connectors and lay the main board out of the way, remove the fuser and the pieces above the fuser so you can get the lid off. Take special note of how the lid is geared to the toner guide. There is also a little spring that hooks onto the guide that you can't see until you try to take the guide out. You'll be able to do it.

I ended up replacing the black guide, since I tried repairing the gears first, and that didn't work. The black guide wouldn't be bad except for that spring. It's tricky to get back on without tearing the whole back off. The part number for the gears that I got from my SSE isn't correct, so I'm waiting for Kyocera to get me part numbers. There's also a black mylar on the front side of that guide that I'll need.
