[Dead] Kyocera MA5500ifx Won't Power On (Warning Light Stays On)

Hey everybody! I've got a relatively new MA5500ifx (installed in February of this year) from a client's office that is completely dead.

The machine was functioning completely normal up until it wasn't. After this weekend when the client's got into their office, they noticed that there was no functionality what so ever.

I came out, switched the power cords, the outlet, and eventually took the machine back with me to swap the boards and gave them a loaner.

When the machine is plugged in, the only thing that turn on is the warning light on the front of the machine. No fans, no noises, just that light.

Here's what I've done so far
    - Swapped the power cables and outlets
    - Checked wire connections throughout the machine
    - Visually inspected PWB's throughout for any issue
    - Swapped out the Power Supply PWB

There was a rattling noise coming from the old power supply PWB when you moved it around which isn't present on the new board.

The only troubleshooting steps that are left in the service manual are checking and/or replacing the Relay-R PWB or the Controller PWB?

Is there a way that I can determine which one it is without ordering the replacement part? I'm not super familiar with identifying issues on circuit boards.

If these other two potential replacements don't do it, what other steps can I try?

    Thanks for any help!

I’d go with the Main PWB. Everything is done from there, and you have literally nothing happening.

Storms in your area? A hit could have taken out the boards. Was it on a surge protector?

Reply to Ropariva - Yeah, I think you're right. I'm not an expert with circuit boards, but read some levels from the Relay-R PWB & the new Power Supply PWB, and it looks like the controller has to be the issue. I placed an order for the Main/Controller PWB.

Reply to kuby - No, I don't think it was a storm. The MFP was on a surge protector with other electronics that were working just fine when I was at the client's site.

Reply to copykat93 - If you're asking about a reading, I didn't do one specifically for the main switch. Based on the other reading I got, I was able to determine that it was the controller.

          Additional Question

Upon closer inspection, I noticed that the sticker on the back of the fax board looked yellowed. Almost like it had been heated up or aged for a long time.

All of the other stickers in the machine look new, so that's why it stuck out to me. I included a picture of the sticker in the post and the board doesn't look to have any other "burn" indicators.

Do you think something happened to the fax board as well? If so, does putting the fax board back in with the new controller once it comes risk damaging the controller again?

          Thanks!
