If you're only printing, and if you know the IP address (or can acquire it via NetScan), then you can remote into the machine's webpage to make networking settings.

Eventually though, you'll need to perform some service function that can only be accessed through the panel. For example replacing maintenance parts or performing calibrations. =^..^=

The screen will only be able to display properly AFTER a machine reboot.

Do not reset the cable/connectors while live. Power completely OFF, reseat connectors, and then boot back up. If it's still not displaying correctly you may need an operation panel, and firmware. If the panel is new it will be expensive. Maybe you can find a used one. =^..^=

Yes, I know it's risky to disconnect live LCD cables... But there is this short moment when the display shows meaningful text. So I conclude the video signal from the main board is still there, I could not obtain data sheets for the display assembly until now to see which signals on the bus could be faulty. If the main board was the culprit, why is the video signal present?

Is there any possibility to establish a LAN connection without functioning display and make a setup remotely?

sounds like replace the ribbon cable. or replace the board the ribbon plugs into as the connection is bad... many require you to unplug it in a certain way. and if you don't, then things can break. they are just made of cheap plastic, not reliable.

I just got a Kyocera TA 2552ci from a friend who was advised by his vendor to throw the machine to waste and to get it out of the office the merchant wanted to charge 300 Euros...
So my friend did not pay for removal, instead called me if I could have a look at the machine.

Problem is the User Display. The Touchscreen shows random lines and the "Warning!" LED is lit when I start the machine. I checked the connections at the mainboard which are ok. Then inside the user Panel I observed that the ribbon cable connection to the PCB was a bit loose and on touching the ribbon the lines on the LCD change and flicker. So I think that is the cause of the malfunction. I took the ribbon out of the connector and reinserted it. Now the "Warning!" LED is off , but the display only shows a clean white screen.
If I loosen the connector and move the ribbon slightly, the screen flickers, sometimes shows color and at one delicate spot even some readable Letters "Energiesparen" (Power save mode) .
