    CS1820 Scan to SMB (PC)

Does anyone know how to turn off the Login on the control panel for when you need to scan to SMP (PC).....this a major pain for each time you wish to scan...I know I've heard of this being possible, but I cannot find anything on it....

    Thanks

Sorry Dawg, the only shortcuts you can set are for the faxing and e-mail. Scan to SMB requires that you key in login and password everytime you scan. You get what you pay for........

Although not the ideal solution, you can set up a user on the PC named "a" and make the SMB password "a".
At least this minimized the number of key strokes.

The Words "Shortcut" and "1820" do not mix at all. Nothing on that machine is very user friendly, except for the price.

indeed we do, but it's not really official fw, and i would not be surprised if it didn't work on the twin 1820

we dont set up a user/password...when it asks for those we just randomly press a number key (doesnt matter which). seems to work fine for our customers.

God, i have like 18 more of these going in offices this month. These customers WILL NOT HAVE THE OPTION to scan to computer, lol. SCAN TO EMAIL ONLY! If they want to scan to PC, i'll set it up on their central 5035. 1820's aren't too bad for maintenance, though. Usually just paper feed rollers and process units, with the occasional fuser replacement.
