    Dustin's KM5050 firmware update

I work with Dustin. When he finally got the firmware to update, the machine displayed "completed" on the screen. The service manual says then to turn off the power switch on the panel and then the main power, but the swithc on the panel wouldn't do anything. Did we miss something?
I know I should be ashamed of myself. Strangely though, I am not.

It might say that in the manual, but the power switch on the op panel won't do anything after a firmware update. Power off at the main switch, remove your CF or USB stick, then power On at the main switch. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Thanks Blackcat, that's what I did. I hoped I hadn't screwed anything up. I feel better now. I wish they would get things right in the manuals a little more often.

They are pretty good now, I remember a manual for a Konica machine that used an Australian company to translate the Japanese manual into English and that thing was a mess.

The original Mita manuals had several references to "deveroper units". I think there's already a great thread on this subject.

As loading firmware goes, the instructions are great for the actual loading, but not a word about which machines need formatted CF cards and which don't, and how the files must be prepared on the card. It was the trial & error method. Congratulations. =^..^=
