There is no special utility to download firmware to the Falcon III. You just put it on an usb drive and plug it in with the machine off. Turn the machine on and it starts the upgrade. I couldn't tell you where to get latest firmware as I no longer have to work on them. Good Luck

That is if he has access to it. What is the version of firmware and it's date you currently have? I 'may' be able to help.

I usually prefer to use the CF card when its available. The difference is that you must format the CF card on the machine first. Unzip the firmware, the copy the firmware files to the root directory. You cannot get creative by copying only certain firmware files. You must use all the files as they appear.

Like the USB method, turn off the machine at the main switch, insert CF card, then power on. It takes ~25 minutes to complete the flash. Do not power Off or remove the CF card until you get a Complete screen or an error. I wait at least 45 minutes if it seems to be stuck. Be sure that all the firmware updates are Complete or No Change. Note any Failed or errors. You won't get another chance to check. Power Off before removing the CF card. Then power On.

The machine is at it's most vulnerable during a firmware update. If there's any chance that the power could cut out during your firmware update don't do it. I usually disconnect the network cable if I know that my endusers are going to continue to send print jobs. The print jobs will still be waiting when you when the machine is back to ready and the network cable reattached. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

So ... how are you attempting to open this font? What font? What error? What are you printing? Are you printing? Can you print a font page? Is your particular font present and printed?

And the best question of all: what does this all have to do with firmware? =^..^=

OK, so we know for sure that the print job is requesting a font that your machine does not have. The next thing to do is to do a data capture of the document that caused this error. There are two ways to do this:

                      1) You can use the Wisecore Data Capture Files on a CF card.
                      2) You can do a Print-To-File. This is the easier choice. Just check the print-to-file option in the print properties and specify where you would like the .prn file stored.

Once you have the data capture you can open it with Textpad to identify the specific font that is troubling you.
You know, in most cases the specific font is not as important as the information being presented. Once you know what the font is, perhaps you can change that text to a font that you do have? =^..^=

Oh, one other thought. There is a checkbox in the print driver giving the driver permission to search for non-standard fonts on the web. That little checkbox has solved this problem occasionally.
