    km1820 image shift.

Working on a KM-1820, it happens on copy and print, the first page comes out with the image shifted towards the end of the page. After the first page everything else is ok. The unit has 238,000 on it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I fixed 1 or 2 by taking off the right side cover, and bending the reg. clutch METAL STOPPER slightly downward. Just bend it down closer to the teeth on the reg. clutch, being careful not to bend it too far or it will hit the clutch gear. I did change the clutch first without success..Once you get in there and look, you'll see what i mean

I've seen this on quite a few 1500s. The first one will have the registration off but the rest will be okay or you'll get intermittent J40 codes but the paper jams near the fuser. Look at the registration solenoid. On the other side of the metal stopper there is a pad that helps reduce noise. After time it gets gunky and causes the metal stopper to hesitate and release the paper from registration late. Clean the area and put a piece of tape over the pad so it's smooth or replace the solenoid.

Replace the Registration solenoid. I have tried to save several by removing the pad. It has NEVER worked. Replace it.
