I have a C250 with a recurring C-D371 error. It clears with the S71....* sequence, but comes back after a few minutes. It will not recur if the machine is printing. Another member here suggested the problem may be a bad NVRam battery. Can the battery just be replaced and will the NVRam work afterward? It sounds a whole lot less expensive just to replace the battery than the board. The batteries run about $14.
