    [Dead] reset password km8030

    Hi,

I'm new in KM world. I heard that KM8030 is a good machine. So, last week I bought 2 used KM8030 (imported from Germany) and the machine arrived this morning. How ever, when I on the machines, both of them need password. Please help me to tackle this problem..

    thanks

Dont remember exactly but check info. In your manual..You can try sim 21 or 20. It should reset network settings and at the same time get rid of password. Since you just got the machines it shouldnt matter resetting all network settings

The job accounting might be turned on. To turn it off
        Press the System/Counter key
        Press Job Accounting
A screen with 4 boxes will come up, enter the password 6200 for TA620 and 8200 for TA820
        Press the job accounting button
Turn the Job Accounting, the buttons under Job Accounting, off.

        See if that works.

Sometimes grit can get inbetween the plastic edging and the touch screen making it unresponsive. Take a small, thin something, I use the blade on my small pocket knife, and insert bewteen the plastic on the display screen, and the touch screen without damaging either, and go all the way around. If that doesn't work, the touch screen might bo out of alignment. Get into the maint mode and perform a maint 201--initialize the touch panel. This can be done through the key pad and not the touch screen. There will be a plus sign, touch the center of it with a closed pen or stylis. Other plus signs will appear, I think there are 3 total including the first. When this is done exit the maint mode and test the touch screen. If this doesn't work, replace the touch screen.

I don't much like the idea of the pocket knife anywhere near the tablet, but the rest is true enough. It's extremely common in the spring and fall to replace several of these tablets. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
              1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
              2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
              3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
              4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
              5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I know, but it is the thinnest thing I carry. If I can remember to get something else thin and strong enough to put it in my bag I would.

Replace touch screen, $ 54.00 from Mita. Don't these machines have a default log in 8030 = 8000, 6030 = 6000. If a previous customer entered their own then you will need to perform a simulation 20 to ser the machine back to factory defaults.

thanks guys. Solved the problem. Changed with new touch screen and reset password as suggested.

                      cheers.
