Need to set up scan to PC (not email). Cannot find anything on KMA connect. Nothing in the manauls I have. If you know where I can find it, please let me know. Or if you can tell me step by step, that would be great. Maybe a cheat sheet? Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: FS -1128
simple scan to smb set up like any other kyocera.....you'll need Host Name/IP Address, path, user name, password....go to the command center and login...under the Basic tab you'll find the Address book....create new contact and you'll see the SMB area under the email area...other than setting up your folders sharing rights that is all there really is to it...."In a cruel and evil world, being cynical can allow you to get some entertainment out of it."

Re: FS -1128
Thanks Kidaver for responding. I call myself doing what you said, but I know I'm doing something wrong. Below is what I input.
Under Address Book Contacts-Edit:
Contact Information: Number is 1 Name is scans
SMB: Host Name I put in the IP address of copier
Port Number 445
Path \\DESK2-HP\scans DESK2-HP is the name of PC scans is the shared folder on the C:
No login/password since none are needed to use PC per the customer.
Scanner: SMB Protocol is on
Port # is 445
I hope that how I wrote this makes sense. What am I doing wrong? I get an 1103 error.Comment

Re: FS -1128
This is correct. Leave off the Host Name as that is filled in in the area above. since you have the folder named scans on the C: all you need to have in the path is "scans" no slashes or anything else...just the folder name...
I've always used the default port for SMB so not sure if that needs to be changed or not....
User name and Login....this gets tricky....I have seen it work with no login or password...and I've seen it only work with login and password...."In a cruel and evil world, being cynical can allow you to get some entertainment out of it."

Re: FS -1128
kyocera_command_center.docThanks everyone for helping. Will go back out and attempt it again. I have attached a document someone posted on here. Can you take a look at it under Address Book Contacts-Edit. Under SMB, the host name shows the IP address with the port number following it and : between them. Is this correct?Comment

Re: FS -1128
I rarely use the IP address unless the computer is using a static IP and/or for some reason the Host Name doesn't work..I myself have never added to port name in with the IP so wouldn't hurt to try if needed...SMB can be fickle...a lot of it will depend on the OS you are using and many different file sharing settings within that OS...I think everyone here can agree that there is no correct 100% way to do this right..."In a cruel and evil world, being cynical can allow you to get some entertainment out of it."

Re: FS -1128
In Windows 7 you'll have to go into the Network Sharing Center and make sure File and Print Share is turned on....also one thing I've seen on Win 7 is in the Sharing Center the last option is turning Password Protection on and off...don't ask me why but about half the machines I set up work with it On and the other half work with it Off so that's another thing you might look at if you are having issues....
Edit....another fickle thing about Win 7 is you should put the folder in the Public/users/ directory....when you go to share it open the properties and hit the share tab....don't hit the top button that says share this folder....go to the option below Advanced Sharing and share it thru there as that will affect your path....using the top option throws in all the host name and full path...thru the Advanced Sharing it shares it like it's just on the C:...."In a cruel and evil world, being cynical can allow you to get some entertainment out of it."

Re: FS -1128
Well sports fans, its official, I do not know what I am doing. Went back out yesterday and still no scanning.
Here is what I think I know:
Used Command Center to input the following:
1. In the address book> Under SMB> Host Name- either the IP address of the computer or the compter's name (ABCDEF-HP)
2. Port number> 445 (Windows 7 is the OS of the computer)
3. Path> scans (This is the shared folder on the C drive of the computer)
4. Login User Name> ( computer does not require a login so I left this blank)
5. Login Password> ( computer does not require a login so I left this blank)
I used scans as the name under Contact Info in address book.
Used Command Center to input the following:
Under Scanner> SMB> SMB Protocol is "on" and port number is 445
Here is the result I got>>> Error 1101 I was told this is a problem with the Host Name or IP Address ( used both name then ip)
Any idea as to what I'm doing wrong or are these steps correct and I am not paying attention? Got so frustrated yesterday that I eventually packed my bags and headed home. The sad part is I used to set up Ricohs for scan to PC alot and would be in and out in 15 minutes. OK, I feel better now.Comment

Re: FS -1128
Yeah the set up looks good....with the 1101 error it seems the MFP is not finding the PC so something is blocking it...either anti virus software or a setting in your Network and Sharing Center..."In a cruel and evil world, being cynical can allow you to get some entertainment out of it."

Re: FS -1128
To make sure I'm thinking right:
1. Make sure "file and print share is "on"
2. Make sure "Password Protection" is "off" ( I assume this because the the PC has no login paasword) You did mention that for some odd reason that some work with it on and some work with it off. So, I can try both.
Is my brain functioning right here?Comment
