I would try it with both on and off.....and you are dealing with Win 7 so yes your brain is functioning properly...Win 7 is just fickle like I said...you may also have to add a username and login...as I've said I've seen some work without it and some will not work without it...

Good luck....the thing with SMB...it's rather easy to set up....but difficult to pin point problems when they happen because there are so many factors involved....Hell I still have an 1128 at a law office with a PC with Win XP that me and 2 other techs have never figured out why it won't scan to SMB lol....

Glad you got it figured out....it's pretty much the same on Kyocera machines unless you get into a few older models where you need Scanner File Utility and such....hopefully you'll never have to deal with it...customers cause more problems with that set up than the set up itself...

You got that right. Had a KM 2530 a few months back that the local kyocera dealer could not set up scanning. They isntalled it years ago and had it scanning. Customer had hard drive crash on PC. The dealer could not make it work. I guess they lost their tech who new how to do it. They said it was a firewall blocking it. Customer called computer support company and they said the same thing. With the help of the techs on Copytechnet, I was able to get them scanning.

It had 2 NICs. That threw me for a loop.

I think I spent about an hour trying to figure out why scanning wasn't working on a KM-C2525 because that machine has 2 NIC's as well....and they discreetly hide one of them lol...

You've actually doubled up on the port designation: 192.168.2.3:445:445
Remove the :445 from the IP
