So I was on a call for a 300ci and was doing a color registration, matching up numbers
and lines, etc. like one normally does when doing a reg. and it just kept getting worse with every adjustment.
I thought, "self, why could this be?".
A quick call to the gents up at Kyocera's bright and resourceful help desk
revealed that if your transfer belt's "ID" sensor or transfer belt is dirty/going bad
then this will not help your registration at all.
Interesting.
So, you have to turn off automatic setting regarding color registration in a maint. mode,
427 if i remember correctly. Then try again.
Very disturbing.
This learned info. could have literally saved me a few hours of head-bumping
