    MFX-3590 Checkout Error: 50

    "Printer malfunction has been detected."

Been returning to same client now for almost a week, and haven't been able to get to the bottom of it. Tried changing fuser as it seemed bad, but that didn't resolve it.

Believe I read somewhere that code 50 refers to the "shift drive". Anyone have any ideas or able to point me in the right direction? Thank you so so much.

That error has to do with the shift motor in the delivery unit, what Muratec called "chassis drive shift". It has nothing to do w/ fuser.

I just wasn't sure if that drive unit was unable to turn the gears that operate the fuser. I should have included this in the OP, but it's also making a loud grinding noise for a second or two upon startup before displaying error 50. This is my first experience with Muratec as my boss bought out another company that manages them. Them not being around anymore makes it difficult to get any info/support, so I really appreciate your input.

There are plenty of Muratecs out there. You can get support from Konica Minolta (they bought Muratec) and most all Muratec parts & supplies. KMBS sold the bizhub 25e (equivalent to MFX-3530) and bizhub 28e (MFX-3535). Only thing - KMBS lowered the toner yield 17% and drum yield 30% to 42K . Muratec identical drums (chipped differently) definitely go 60K. IMHO, there has been nothing since as good for the money - dealer cost was approx. $600. These machines are runners....
