I might be wrong about the machine being connected to withe the SAM key but lotus notes has been replaced with Robin/Porthos.
Sorry but you're wrong. not for this model. For Plotwave 300 and 350 there isn't SAM key access -there is USB2Ethernet adapter with ip 134.188.254.100 (problem if not having it from oce is installed drivers on controller -so if you access to controller and install drivers for market buyed usb2ethernet adapter it will work).
Next is needed Lotus (old interface) with Plotwave database manual or newer Portos app (Robin is used for install Service manual for plotwave 300/350 with service access), next installed SDS_Server mini app and valid Service Licence sticked with laptop mac address -for me this last isn't problem
