    DP-C354 Hard Drive Reformat

OK. I've been through every inch of the manual.

How do I reformat the hard drive, to erase any customer information stored there. The machine is going back to the lease company today at 1700EST and my time is running short.

Just to confirm: I'm not going to wipe out the firmware, or color quality adjustments. Correct? It will still be a usable MFP? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Data Deletion on HD is in general settings key op, anything left should be taken care of by shipment set. Warning I've heard the highest level of deletion can take 2 - 3 hours depending on the size of the HD.

I did find Shipment Set, but what not too sure what it would do. Thanks CB! =^..^=

Shipment set should not touch F5's or F6's. Firmware and color adjustments will be safe. Most of the time it'll ask if you want to reset the counters also. Obviously, that's a no-no. It'll reset fax parameters and Key op settings, If it does have a fax on it the key name and fax number may have to be deleted manually though. They don't make it easy to just get the machine back to "out of the box".

Agian, thanks for posting within my deadline, CB. For anybody interested in the actual keystrokes:

Function, General Settings, Key Operator Mode, enter admin password, V x6 to 34. Hard Disk Initialization, Format, OK, Start, OK, "Delete Document?", Yes.

Simultaneously hold Function-Copy-3, enter admin password, 9, Start, 06 Ram Clear, 03 Shipment Set, "Clear Copy Count?" No.

It went quicker than I anticipated. I think the explanation is that Key Op Mode 44 was set to Basic. IIRC the options are Basic/Medium/High.
